This event has been supported by Birtley AC for many years, and the club encourages members to take part. This is a fast, flat course, great for a 10k PB. Details of the event can be found here The event takes place on the Town Moor, but the Race Headquarters is at the Royal Grammar School, and numbers/chips will need to be collected from there. The route may be slightly different on the day, but last year’s route can be viewed here

START & FINISH:- Quay Road, Quayside, Blyth

ROUTE:- On footpath and cycle ways from Blyth Quayside to Seaton Sluice and return. Fast and flat.

CHANGING & PARKING:- Ample parking near to start. Please follow signs and marshals instructions. No changing facilities.

    Druridge Bay 10K @ Druridge Bay Country Park

    For 2014 the nominated charity is the Stephen Carey Fund.

    The run itself is mainly off road, but very flat and fast. Druridge Bay is an area of outstanding natural beauty. A great day out for all the family. The start and finish area has plenty of parking space, toilets and a café. In addition there will be stalls and possibly sports massages will be available once again this year.

    All runners will receive a memento and water. (Commemorative mug). There are prizes to the first male and female (Min £ 50 Sweatshop running store voucher), together with first over 50 male and female and first junior prizes.     The Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash is a 10k race through the streets of Leeds with up to 12,000 runners, from across the country, aiming to gain a personal best on our fast and flat course.This will be the 31st race and every year it gets bigger and better.

    It doesn’t matter if you’re an elite or beginner runner, we know you’ll enjoy the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash

    Also the Junior Dash, (ages 8-14), Entry is now open for the Age UK Junior Dash! Sign up your mini dashers to join hundreds of others as they take on our 2k route in Leeds City Centre to help more people love later life.
