This event is one of a series in the North East Harrier League. This is the course map for Wallington Hall Harrier League, Morpeth. The map shows the senior womens course, consisting of two loops, whilst senior men run three.
Wallington Hall can be found here – click on Get Directions for driving instructions from your own address. Although parking here is plentiful (there is a large carpark and overflow parking on the edges of the course), there were long queues last year as the organisers had to route cars over the course between races – try and arrive early, and car-share wherever possible.
The course here is very picturesque, with a section through woodland paths in addition to open grassland, and challenging in places, with a steep downhill section about 2/3 of the way around the lap, which is predictably followed by quite a tough uphill slog to reach the start of subsequent laps.
Don’t forget to bring your Birtley vest, spikes if you have them, safety pins, a bag for your muddy things afterwards, and most important of all, YOUR NUMBER! If you competed in the Sherman Cup/Davison Shield event at the start of the cross country season, you will already have your Harrier League number – this will be your number for the whole Harrier season so please look after it! If this is your first event of the season, you will be given a number by one of our coaches when you arrive, or it will be in the club tent ready for collection – look out for the Birtley flag flying outside!
Here is a list of the currently registered Birtley athletes – if you’re not listed but would like to take part, please contact Ed Lown at the club or by email. The list shows your age group and which pack you will be running from – please ensure you start from the correct pack or you may be disqualified.
Our guide for new runners can be viewed here.
