Birtley men at Saltwell 10k

The Ronnie Walker Saltwell 10k, England’s oldest road race, took place on Saturday 21st December, with three Birtley athletes competing.

First of the Birtley lads over the line was Michael Keenan, with a PB for Saltwell of 40.20 and 52nd place overall. Shortly afterwards, Dave Coulson crossed the line in 41.26, he too gained a PB by over a minute for this course, and also a top 100 place (63rd, not 92nd as originally reported, apologies to David). Finally, Gerard (aka Pedro) came in at just over an hour, in 387th place. Well done to all of you, impressive performances!
