GOOD FRIDAY RELAYS INFORMATION SHEET
REGISTRATION: NEWBURN RIVERSIDE PARK, STELLA HOUSE, NHS BUILDING, GOLDCREST WAY, LEMINGTON, NEWCASTLE. NE15 8NY
On arrival by car: Please follow the marshal’s directions for car parking. Do not use company car parks that are NOT marshaled. Thank You.
Facilities: The Building will be in use by NHS staff. Please respect their place of work and keep the building clean and tidy. Please, no shouting, Thank you.
Toilets: Available on the ground floor of the NHS building. No baggage should be left unattended. The organisers will accept no liability for loss or damage to personal property, belongings and vehicles.
Please ensure your race number is on the front of your vest. Refreshments are available in the main foyer of the NHS building.
Medical personnel: Will be on-hand & can provide assistance should you need it. If you are unable to finish the route, signal to a marshal that you need assistance out on the course. Ensure your medical & contact information on the reverse of your number is complete.
Warm up area: Please use the paths on the estate. Do not use the roads. These are open to public traffic. Avoid the course route when races are on-going. Thank you.
PLEASE DO NOT THROW ANY LITTER AROUND THE VICINITY. KEEP THE BUILDING AND ESTATE TIDY!
The first race will start at 10.30am (U13’s) 10.50am (U15’s) 11.10am (seniors & vet women) 12 Noon (seniors & vet men).
Junior Course Description:
The course starts on a closed section of road, which forms part of the One North East’s business park’s road network. Athletes run 2 loops of the roundabout course. Next, they follow the public footpath which makes its way around the perimeter of the business park. A ‘U’ turn at the first sub station brings athletes back to the start / finish line. Athletes will be running on both sides of the footpath.
We hope to present the awards for the junior races at around 11.30am.
The Senior Course Description:
This one lap course starts on a closed section of road, which forms part of the One North East’s business park’s road network. Athletes run one full lap of the roundabout route. Next they follow a public footpath which makes its way around the perimeter of the business park. A ‘U’ turn will bring athletes back to the start / finish line. Athletes will be running on both sides of the footpath. Runners approaching the finishing handover area will be directed towards this post by Marshals. The finish line is located on the closed section of road from which the original race started. All races finish on a closed section of road. This will further improve the safety of all competitors.
POST RACE: Competitors are welcome to post race refreshments in the NHS building and collection of your anniversary bottled beer fro adults or cake for the juniors.
PRIZE GIVING: will take place as soon as all the results are collated from both the senior & vets races.
