Cross-Challenge/Intercounties XC at Birmingham

The last Cross Challenge event of the season took place at Birmingham last weekend, and was combined with the Intercounties championships to produce a very high standard of competition on the day. Several Birtley athletes were racing, including Sophie Burnett and Robyn Waugh in the u17 event, Danielle Elliott in the girls u20 race, and Adrian Bailes who was the first North East athlete home in his u20 race. Kate Waugh finished very strongly in 4th place in her u15 race, whilst Lydia Turner finished in second place behind Harriet Knowles-Jones.
