Attention, masters of the universe athletics!

Come on, don’t be shy – 35 and over is no age at all! The North East Masters Athletics Association (NEMAA) organise many events for the more mature athlete, where you can compete against people of your own age group, instead of the teenagers you are forced to compete against at other races! There are a variety of championship events over the year, plus a popular track and field league which takes place at Monkton Stadium during the summer months.

The next event is the North East XC Champs (details here) which is an open event. However, if you join NEMAA for the bargain price of £10 membership, you will get discounted entry fees to all of their events throughout the year. You can download an entry form here.

We are considering taking a team down to the National Champs in Liverpool on the 18th March – if you would be interested in going, please contact either myself (val.baxter@yahoo.co.uk), or see Brian Bailes/Shannel Curtis at the club.
