DACYP County Cross Country Championships

Birtley AC again hosted this event for the third year at Lord Lawson Academy. On a tried and tested course and thanks to a host of volunteer helpers who were out early morning setting up the course, the event went off smoothly with some excellent races. The weather was fine and although muddy underfoot the conditions were ideal for cross country running. Birtley Athletes again excelled and along with individual race winners the club won 4 team trophies. The county team will be selected in December which will compete in Essex on the 13th January (revised date). The results are as follows: Under 11 Girls 1st Mollie Elliott 6.19 2nd Tess Graham 6.25 5th Ellie Tyler 7.21 6th Jessica Burnett 7.24 7th Sophie Bell 7.30 8th Abbie Sheavills 7.46 9th Naomi Sheavills 7.55 10th Jasmine Gill 8.15 11th Bethanie Craig 8.19 12th Mia Openshaw 8.21 13th Caitlin Millmore 8.23 14th Lucy Blyth 8.33 First Team Under 13 Girls 1st Lola Tindle 8.22 2nd Lea Brown 8.28 4th Macy Bradshaw 9.40 5th Laura Kelly 9.45 6th Rhianne Bell 9.52 8th Megan Blyth 11.23 First Team Under 15 Girls 1st Sophie Burnett 15.02 Under 11 Boys 3rd Matthew Clough 5.50 5th Louis Gill 6.00 6th Jack Todd 6.01 8th Ryan Smailes 6.07 11th Chris Coulson 6.38 12th Kody Langley 6.44 First Team Under 13 Boys 2nd Kieran Taylor 8.54 3rd Jamie Smailes 9.21 4th Josh Harvey 9.44 First Team Under 15 Boys 1st Lewis Morgan 15.03
