Ending the season on a high note!

Tom Millmore travelled to Bedford on Saturday with several Birtley athletes who were competing at the English U15-U17 Track & Field Championships. Well done to Tom Goulding, Sophie Burnett and Lydia Turner who were all competing against the best in the country. Lydia came 3rd in her 3,000m race with a new PB, and both Sophie and Tom performed well against a high standard of competition.

Several Birtley athletes were also competing in the Tynedale Jelly Tea 10 mile race which took place on Sunday. Well done Lorna Blyth, Darren Purvis, Michael Keenan, Keith Robertshaw and Tracy Millmore who was 2nd senior lady, and as the race was also the North East 10 mile Championships she is now North East Champion, as the First Lady was out of the area. Finally, in the Watergate 5k last week, Tracy was again 2nd lady, whilst Chris Coulson gained a third place in the junior competition.
