Fancy a weekend of training at the Lakes?
At Low Bank Ground, Coniston in the Highfield building.
This stone built building looks out across Conistonwater to the Coniston Fells with direct access to the lakeshore. The building sleeps 32 in 10 bedrooms. There is a mixture of bunk and single beds and half of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. Two large bedrooms are suitable for wheelchair users. There is a kitchen/dining/sitting room upstairs and a drying room downstairs.
From Friday 29th August to Sunday 31st August (2 nights) there’s a training weekend arranged at the Centre. The training over the weekend would be something like this (under 17’s age group and above). All times are approximate.
Friday: Arrive at the centre from 4pm. Steady paced run at 6pm (60min)
Saturday: 7:30am 45min run, 1pm Session, 7pm 45min run including hills
Sunday: 8am, a blinking good run over hill and dale. Younger athletes would be offered more suitable sessions.
The centre is not far from the shore of Coniston so be prepared to go for a dip, the cold water will be the same as an ice bath?!
Although the main aim is to get in some good training, there’ll also be a chance for a laugh and of course some food, (volunteer cooks required).
The weekend is available for everyone but those under 18 years old must have parental consent.
The centre sleeps 32 in total, and the cost would be about £40 including food if it was full. Everyone is welcome, coaches and parents especially to help out. If you don’t want to train then go for a walk.
There are still places left so let me know as soon as possible if you are interested.
