Training Weekend 20th – 22nd July 2012 Venue: Rydal Hall Lake District

There has been a residential training weekend organised at Rydal Hall Youth Centre in the Lake District. This is offered to everyone one on a first come first served basis. The Youth Centre has been booked for the full use, so there will be no sharing with other groups, it holds up to 28 people in bunk rooms and smaller rooms, and has full facilities available for self catering. If the centre is booked and there are others who want to go then there are full camping facilities and camping pods available. See the attached link for Rydal Hall. www.rydalhall.org The weekend schedule will provisionally be endurance based but this can change if anyone is interested in doing other sessions and a suitable coach/adult is available. Brief provisional schedule for the endurance athletes:- Arrival Friday 20th July from 2pm Training session for everyone Friday from 6pm consisting of steady run of at least 45mins. Saturday from 7am (before breakfast) 45-50min easy run. (everyone) Saturday late morning/afternoon exploring/walking/shopping?? Saturday late afternoon session TBC (everyone) Saturday evening easy run (optional) Sunday from 8am steady run 60 mins at least (everyone) Sunday afternoon walk/hike on the hills/mountains. All the sessions and runs will be mainly off road and undulating. Other options will be available to anyone else. The weekend is available to all athletes from the Club, and parents (who are asked to help with transport, meals/cooking etc) and also to athletes from other Clubs if spaces are available, but please note that this is a training weekend so be aware of the sessions and that you will be ok to do them. It won’t be all work though, and there will be a laugh now and again. Anyone who wants to come for the day either Saturday or Sunday are welcome. Cost:- If the Centre is full then the cost will work out at £22.50 for the 2 nights + a small cost for travel say £5-£10 + a contribution of about £5 for food. This is the first time a weekend has been arranged through the Club specifically to train and is a good opportunity to do your training in a different environment. If it is successful and there is enough interest then there will be others arranged in the future. Let me know asap if you are interested either through Team Birtley AC facebook page/email/phone or see me on Club nights. Tom Millmore
